I guess this is more of a sketch than anything else, but whatever. I'm trying to teach myself digital painting and drawing, but from paper to tablet is alot harder than i had originally thought it would be.

photoshop cs3 and wacom 6x8 tablet.

ugh. now that i look at it, its..just...bleh..i don't really like it that much. i can draw, but its just..weird, especially the painting part. color and me just don't mix. :(

but i'll keep at it.

Eh really? =/ But you're so good at Graphic Design.... hmm. Just keep practising. By painting, you mean digitally colouring with layers and all? Coz seriously, all it takes is practise (then again, I'm not that great at it either so you shouldn't take my word for it... but I'm better than when I started)

yeah thats the bit. when i try to blend my colors, they look all choppy, and im not sure if im using the right tool. meh, i spent like 4 hours messing around today with it, and still it didn't work. and tips?

Blending colours? Ehh... if you wanna blend your colours, use the base colour, the darker and darker shades as you lead out from it, and maybe the same from the other side with light colours. Smudge is also useful - mess with the flow and strength or whatever it is a little. I wouldn't really advice blur but it can help to smooth the colours out a little. 4 hours?? Oh but it's probably the weekend where you are...
